As Christians we all need somebody to Lean On

Have you ever guessed what went on behind the scenes when Peter three times denied Christ; his broken spirit and utter misery? He went out and wept bitterly. Where did he go? Just out, through the garden door into the little dark street. He put his head against a wall, his shoulders heaving, and tears of bitter remorse dripping down his shaggy beard. What would have become of Peter? We find later he is with John – a young firebrand disciple. I think I can supply the detail. John went out worried about Peter, He found him convulsed with failure and remorse. John put his arm around that leader, and said “Come on Peter, come home with me!” John saved Peter and what did that mean to history, and to you and me? We all need an arm around us to help us along. It takes only a little push to topple us to the ground. But when Peter was baptized on the day of Pentecost, his anointing broke the yoke. No longer upset over his failure, crushed, but filled with grace and power he sways a multitude and brought them to Jesus. God bless you
